In Arabic.. Very intersting article by well known Shia writer with good relations to Chalabi.

The writer demonstarted the surprising visit by Chalabi to the most radical Sunni Scholar Association , then the visit to Alsystani in the next day.

 

He is wondering if this is another move by "what the writer called, the stronger man in coalition list" Chalabi to accomodate the Arab Sunni in confronting a possible American backed Kurd-Alawee front..

Alchalbi talking from Hilla while visiting the relatives of the victims of the terrorist act.

He said that such act might not happened if there is a strong policy to deal with belt of death region around Baghdad and have access to Hilla.

He also asked the ellected assembly to get on March 6th as people told him that they start to worry about the delay.. They said that had sacrified their life and are willing see their representatives taking over.

In Arabic.. Jordanian MP claims that King Abdullah is the only Arab leader that can discuss with Pres Bush the Iraqi file..

Indeed this is exactly the reason why the Jordaian leaders are so against Chalabi.. They thought that his well connection with the American Administartion might compete their chances in future as brokers.

اذا ما كانت هذه الظروف القاسيه ناتجه عن اطماع  اجنبية او سوء سياسة الحكام المحليين ... من هنا لا نستطيع ان نفترض افتراظات جدلية من ان الخروج من هذا المأزق سيكون على ايادي الطيف السياسي العراقي بأحزابه و تجمعاته المختلفة حيث المشهد السياسي الطافي على السطح لا يدعوا الى هذا التفاؤل ... في ضوء ذلك تأتي الحاجة الى الرجل الاستثناء الذي يستطيع ان ينظم شكل العلاقات ما بين كل الاطراف لرسم الاتجاه العام الذي يخطو نحو الانقاذ .. و عليه  دعونا نقلب اسماء الاشخاص بتمعن ماذا سنجد ؟ ...

 

قد نختلف او نتفق نرغب او لا نرغب سنجد احمد الجلبي الشخصية المثيرة للجدل هي الابرز في لعب مثل هذا الدور الخطير .. حيث برغماتية هذا الرجل و استعداده العالي على المناورة و المرونة  و الحزم عند الضرورة تملكه كل مقومات لعب دور رسم سياسة انقاذ العراق اليوم , قد يذكركم هذا الرجل بشخصية نوري سعيد الذي ترحم عليه العراقيون بعد ان سحلوه في شوارع بغداد ليقتنعوا فيما بعد من انهم كانو يضحون بمستقبلهم  لا بنوري سعيد .. وما الحملات المحلية المتجنية و الاقليمية على الجلبى اليوم ما هي الا سوء  فهم و محاولة لقتل واحدة من اهم الفرص  لانقاذ العراق .. تمحصوا بالامر جيدا و اقرأوا المشهد السياسي و انظروا لكل هذه التداعيات الخطيرة و تابعوا جيدا لسلوك و سياسة  الجلبي الذي قد لا نحبه و نختلف معه ,, ضعوا العراق بين اعينكم في اخر محاولة لانقاذ السفينة من الغرق.

INC Sources Had Little Impact on Iraq Intel-Report

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A CIA investigation found Iraqi National Congress sources had little influence on the prewar assertions used by President Bush to justify invading Iraq, a presidential commission said on Thursday.

A special guest of first lady Laura Bush at the State of the Union address last year, the INC's Ahmad Chalabi was a favorite of the Pentagon, which paid his Iraqi National Congress $340,000 a month for intelligence that critics said contributed to the prewar U.S. view that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.

 

The intelligence commission, appointed by Bush to investigate intelligence failures in Iraq, said an October 2002 national intelligence estimate relied on reporting from two INC sources, both of whom were later deemed to be "fabricators."

 

One of the sources provided the United States with false information on the existence of mobile biological weapon labs in Iraq. The other source told Washington about the possible construction of a new nuclear facility in Iraq.

 

But according to a postwar investigation by the CIA, "INC-related sources had a minimal impact on prewar assessments," the commission said.

 

The intelligence commission did not go into detail about the CIA analysis and a CIA spokesman had no immediate comment.

 

The commission's report said the CIA was unable to uncover any evidence that the INC or any other organization was directing a mysterious Iraqi chemical engineer, code-named "Curveball," who also fed misleading information to the intelligence community about Iraq's biological weapons programs.

 

"Instead, the postwar investigations concluded that Curveball's reporting was not influenced by, controlled by, or connected to, the INC," the commission said.

 

Chalabi, now an Iraqi politician, called the commission's report "vindication of the INC."

 

"We have consistently stated that the INC played a very small role in U.S. intelligence reporting on Saddam's WMDs and the report proves that," he said.

 

Chalabi's dealings with Washington go back more than a decade. The CIA had a relationship with him in the early 1990s but became disaffected after the INC failed to overthrow or weaken the Iraqi regime.

 

The State Department then funded the INC, but also cut off funds for a time because the group could not fully account for the money. The Pentagon eventually picked up the INC tab.

 

Chalabi was instrumental in making the case on Capitol Hill for the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998, a U.S. law saying regime change should be U.S. policy toward Saddam.

 

But in May, U.S. forces and Iraqi police raided Chalabi's Baghdad home and party offices, seizing computers and files from the man once seen by the Pentagon as a potential post-Saddam leader.

 

 

 

تقرير : مصادر المؤتمر الوطني العراقي لا تأثير يذكر لها على العراق

 

واشنطن (رويترز) - قالت لجنة رئاسية ان تحقيقا لوكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الامريكية خلص الى ان مصادر المؤتمر الوطني العراقي لم يكن لها تأثير يذكر على معلومات ما قبل الحرب التي استخدمها الرئيس جورج بوش لتبرير غزو العراق.

وكان احمد جلبي رئيس المؤتمر الوطني العراقي ضيفا خاصا لسيدة امريكا الاولى لورا بوش في مناسبة القاء كلمة حالة الاتحاد العام الماضي وكان ذا حظوة لدى البنتاجون الذي كان يدفع لجماعته 340 الف دولار شهريا عن معلومات الاستخبارات التي قال منتقدون انها ساهمت في تكوين رأي الولايات المتحدة قبل الحرب ومفاده ان العراق يملك اسلحة للدمار اللشامل.

وقالت لجنة الاستخبارات التي عينها بوش لكشف اوجه القصور في معلومات الاستخبارات في العراق ان تقديرا للاستخبارات القومية في اكتوبر تشرين الاول عام 2002 اعتمد على مصدرين في الموءتمر الوطني العراقي عن وجود معامل متنقلة للاسلحة البيولوجية وقد اعتبر الاثنان فيما بعد "ملفقين".

وقدم أحد المصدرين للولايات المتحدة معلومات كاذبة عن وجود معامل متنقلة للاسلحة البيولوجية. وأبلغ المصدر الاخر واشنطن عن احتمال انشاء منشأة نووية جديدة في العراق.

ولكن اللجنة قالت ان تحقيقا بعد الحرب لوكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الامريكية أظهر "ان مصادر المعلومات المتصلة بالموءتمر الوطني العراقي لم يكن لها تأثير يذكر على معلومات ما قبل الحرب."

ولم تخض لجنة الاستخبارات في التفاصيل عن تحليل وكالة الاستخبارات المركزية الامريكية وقال متحدث باسم الوكالة انه ليس لديه تعقيب فوري.

ووصف جلبي وهو الان سياسي عراقي تقرير اللجنة بانه "يوءكد صحة موقف المؤتمر الوطني العراقي."

وقال "قلنا دوما ان المؤتمر الوطني العراقي لعب دورا صغيرا جدا في معلومات أجهزة الاستخبارات عن اسلحة الدمار الشامل لصدام حسين والتقرير يثبت صحة هذا."

قد تبدوا مساله تبرئه الجلبي من موضوع معلومات المخابرات جول اسلحه العراق , مساله غير مهمه للقارئ العراقي الدي ربما كان يرغب في ازاله صدام باي وسيله ولكنها مهمه لدى المواطن الامريكي حيث تشن وسائل الاعلام المعاديه لحريه العراقيين في امريكا مثل نييوزويك ولوس انجلس تايمز حمله منظمه لاتهام الجلبي بخديعه الامريكان. وهو امر اثر على سمعه الجلبي في الولايات المتحده الامريكيه واضعف من سهوله تحركه في الاوساط الحاكمه في الكونغرس . وهدا مايهدف اليه من لفق التهمه له من رجال المخابرات من رجال الحرس القديم
